Techni receives orders for more ROGs after Visund success
Following the successful deployment to the Visund oil field as part of AKS delivery of XMTs to StatoilHydro, Aker Solutions has ordered several ROGs developed by Techni. Gears convert a rotational force to a linear force and make it possible to override the opening and closing mechanism of the two 2” actuators manually using a ROV (Remotely operated vehicle).
First delivery of ROGs to the Visund oil field
Only 15 months after the starting date for the development project, Techni has delivered the first ROGs (Rotating Override Gear) to Aker Solutions. The ROGs are mounted at the end of the 2” actuators of the first 3 XMTs (X-mas tree)
The gears will function as manual overrides for the closing mechanisms on the actuators and make it possible to use an ROV (Remotely Operated Vehicle) to perform the job. |
