Initiated by Per Gjerdrums (PG), Techni has developed and delivered 52 ultra-compact rotary actuators now installed on the Gjøa platform.  

As a result of this development the control of pump stroke may now be executed via the control system as well as manually. Due to the limited space available the size of the actuators is a crucial design parameter, providing for easy maintenance and service. The new product line is named Pump Stroke Adjustment Actuators. The products are certified for use in EEx zone 2 delivering a torque of 2.5, 5 and 20 Nm (with different gear ratios). The actuators are controlled via Modbus and Kongsberg's control system. The units are connected in series divided into three separate Modbus links. The power supply is a 24VDC rail.
